When our emotions are in control, we’re out of control. No matter how smart we are, or what opportunities, present themselves to us,…… without control over our emotions, we will not be able, to accomplish our goals, and have joy in our life.

My name is Lou Scotti. Our emotions define the quality of our life. Our emotional life is connected, to every aspect of our life.  When our emotional life is in balance our life is full of energy and optimism.   When our emotions are unbalanced our life is difficult and unbearable.  We’ve all had bouts with negative emotions and felt the effects of  Stress, over worry, anxiety, impulsive behavior, depression, and various other emotional issues

I believe that to live a good life, a person should learn to do something of value, very well, then serve others with that knowledge. As an Emotions Advisor, Educator, Speaker, Author, and founder of Our Emotional Life I dedicate my life to the service and well-being of others.

Like most of us, I grew up without understanding where emotions come from or how to regulate and control them. I received the standard responses in regards to my emotions like, it will pass, don't worry about it, it will be ok, or my favorite, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Well, I learned that what doesn't kill you doesn't always make you stronger. Sometimes the pain didn't pass. Sometimes painful emotions create lasting emotional consequences. Like the rest of us, I tucked away my feelings because that's what I thought I was supposed to do. No one told me otherwise. Emotions weren't discussed.

Noticing a lack of substantive programs that focused on the key factors related to a positive and productive emotional life, and how many people lacked knowledge of their emotions, how they develop, and how to control and improve them, I was motivated to start Our Emotional Life, a business that allows people to understand and improve their emotional life. There should be a resource for people seeking to improve emotional control and reduce stress, over worry anxiety, and depression. 

Using the current neuroscience research I provide access to a credible source of knowledge and practice methodology for the understanding and development of our emotional life, to learn how our brain builds itself in early childhood influences our emotional temperament and personality.

Our emotions can guide us and help us make good decisions, or our emotions can rule us and make our lives miserable. Our Emotional Life has programs designed to help us improve our emotional control through acceptance, awareness, knowledge, and practice.

I am is a graduate of Adelphi University & NYU Post Graduate Medical School, a former NYU Post Graduate Medical School Instructor. I was appointed Chairman and lead instructor for a federally granted program at the Educational Opportunities Commission, Bronx, N.Y. I also developed and facilitated after school and summer programs for youth. I am an accomplished teacher with significant experience in developing and implementing educational programs.

I am eager to support people committed to improving their emotional life. My accomplishments reflect a sincere desire to learn, teach, and develop worthwhile programs for the betterment of our emotional lives.

     In my spare time I am an artist, athlete, and an avid martial artist with black belts in various styles, I love to eat fresh food and cook often. I am passionate about teaching, driven to learn, and excited about other people’s success. Keep Learning!

WHAT WE DO​ (Same as Video)

     At our emotional life, we’re concerned with your agenda, and your emotional life,  about what you want to achieve in your life. We work hard to develop a strong understanding of your unique emotional goals. Then we set up our program outcomes and goals according to what you, as an individual, want to accomplish. Now please, understand, This is not Hollywood, we are not here to entertain you with flashy graphics and fireworks. The fireworks come when you accomplish your goal. Our emotional life has developed a strong program based on neuroscience, years of research, and experience and provides simple progressive methods for improving our emotional life. People spend years learning and practicing to improve their skills as athletes, or musicians, or skills or in a particular profession or trade. So why do some of us think we can improve our emotional control in a few weeks.  We have been practicing to be who we are for many years. We can’t change our emotional habits is a few weeks. 

 

     Here at our emotional life, we will not contribute to the short term, or quick fix results, mentality, which is often common in programs or courses. We won’t mislead you or con you with false promises. Put in the work and get results. We expect months of significant effort.  We schedule weekly discussions, in person, online, or on the phone, depending on the arrangement agreed upon. First, you’ll view the online preliminary course for our emotional life.  Then You’ll receive a workbook, and each week various information will be reviewed and discussed. We offer practical and progressive methods for increasing your emotional awareness, understanding where your emotions come from, how emotions affect your life, and eventually new ways of expressing your emotions.

 

     Before you agree to participate in the course we’ll have a discussion to learn about each other. Once you commit to the course we will do information gathering asking questions to get a better understanding of the emotional areas you want to review and improve. We work on all of you, not half.  It would be foolish to separate out the parts we don’t like, we need to acknowledge our strengths and weaknesses as part of our whole person. To become more aware of your emotions we’ll discuss various topics and ask some difficult questions in order to move into a transformative level of emotional awareness. ………. It’s only at a higher level of emotional awareness … that we can improve………. The process is challenging and sometimes uncomfortable………. After all, It’s the truth you want. …………………The goal is to get to where your emotions are in balance and where thoughts and behaviors support a positive, productive life style.  We tract progress towards your emotional goals so we can see what areas are improving and what areas need more work. It’s not about rating your progress ,, or giving you a grade… There are no judgment…. We are all grow at our own rate, but we do need to review progres  .You may say ,,,,,,,,,why can’t  I can do this myself? …… Well I say this…………… No matter who we are…………… at times we all need help …………… Every person should take a course in themselves. Most people make excuses and live in denial about their emotional life. Getting help requires not only gaining knowledge and skill,……… but also  holding ourselves accountable ….accountability  means facing and accepting our strengths and weaknesses with equal enthusiasm… ……..It means,,,,, not deterring from the path,, not becoming distracted, staying focused and committed ,,, …….. I will  help you with accountability ……… I will be tough ……. I will push you.. and  help motivate you    because you want the truth about your emotions,,, and how they affect your life. ………… That’s why you’re here.-- Hard emotional work isn’t for everyone……………Facing our shadow side isn’t for everyone. This course isn’t for everyone……… we offer significant Knowledge, and experience., we will not use shortcuts or gimmicks.       The goal is for  you will have more emotional balance and control……. less stress ,,,,,,,,,,, less worry,,,,,,,,,, reduce bad habits and impulsive behaviors,,, and ,reduce anxiety and depression. WHY I DO IT​

       I love people. With what experience has taught me and what God has given me I have always been able to connect with people. Watching someone smile when a goal is reached is wonderful. The joy and sense of fulfillment felt through accomplishment is sensational and self-illuminating. Success is a place each of us wants and deserves to be. For me the greatest accomplishment is helping someone succeed. With the proper knowledge and skill success and happiness will occur. My quest is to help others achieve their individual level of lasting success and fulfillment.



MISSION STATEMENT​

       My mission is to improve the life of every person I come in contact with and in doing so improve my own. I will assist in the growth of each person's inner self, developing the character required to acquire lasting success and happiness Together we will challenge ourselves, growing individually recognizing our full potential. Using long and short term goals in conjunction with knowledge and self-awareness we will live happier more successful lives.​
